‘A SORT OF LECTURE’ @ UNSEEN CINEMA

‘A Sort of Lecture’

Paulien Oltheten, performance.

Het Ketelhuis Westergasfabriek:
Saturday September 22 2012 – 12.45hr.

In ‘A Sort of Lecture’ dutch artist Paulien Oltheten takes the audience on a visual journey of associations. She presents pictures and videos in a flow of apparently accidental combinations, creating small, wonderful stories.

Oltheten travels the globe with her camera, casually but precisely capturing photos and video footage of people on the streets, walking, waiting or hanging around. Her work is about thoughts, lines, folds and wrinkles, interspaces and traces. Everyday and absurd. Real and staged.

Paulien Oltheten (1982) was resident artist at the Rijksacademie and won the Dutch Doc Award 2012. During Unseen she has an exhibition at Fons Welters gallery in Amsterdam (till October 27).
